How To :: The Troublesome Socket

The Troublesome Socket

January 1, 2017

Which side faces up in the SnapSetter® Tool?

There is a right and wrong side of the Socket (the donut looking part of a snap set). Using any one of the SnapSetter tools, place the Socket, with the raised side over the prong points. Be sure the side with the slits on the inner ring faces up (looks like a flower). If the closure does not hold and the prong points face inward, the Socket was placed upside down; try again with the a new Socket. Be sure to use a firm flat surface for the attachment such as our Hammering Surface, steel, marble or metal. DO NOT use wood for a hammering surface as it will not support the tool and attachment.
